VicLouis G. Arreola III developed his passion for ministry in the 1970s as a second-generation Adventist minister. He entered the ministerial workforce as an intern in 1976 after completing his Bachelor of Arts in theology at Mountain View College, followed by completion of his master’s in religion and public health at Philippine Union College (now Adventist University of the Philippines). He was ordained into the gospel ministry on January 23, 1982.

While working as a district pastor in the Northern Philippines, Elder Arreola was called to serve as a department director and evangelist of the Northern Luzon Mission. In 1984, he answered a call to the United States as Pastor-Evangelist and later as director of Asian-Pacific Ministries of the Hawaii Conference. He went on to serve as senior pastor of the Central Filipino Church in Los Angeles, California, and director of Asian-Pacific Ministries at the Northern California Conference. In 2011, he was elected director of Asian-Pacific Ministries at the Pacific Union Conference and the North American Division for two consecutive terms. He was most recently elected as vice president for the Asian-Pacific Ministries at the Pacific Union Conference as well as chair of the Asian-Pacific Advisory at the North American Division, overseeing 33 language groups with a combined membership of over 100,000 across the US, Canada, Bermuda, and the islands of Guam-Micronesia.

Along with evangelism and pastoral leadership, Dr. Arreola has a deep interest in education. He has a Master of Theology from the Adventist Theological Seminary and holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the Evangelical Seminary and a Doctor of Theology from La Salle University in Philadelphia. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of Christian Ministry at Andrews University and the HMS Richards Divinity School at La Sierra University. He holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Religion, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Adventist Theological Society, and the International Association of Pastoral Counselors. He has recently been conferred an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Dallas Theological Seminary for notable empowering leadership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is the founder and president of the Pacific Institute of Christian Ministry which serves as a resource providing pastoral and lay training. As a licensed church growth strategist, executive leadership coach, and church revitalization consultant, Dr. Arreola is dedicated to empowering local communities and congregations. He has mentored and trained pastors, Bible workers, and lay leaders in North America and abroad for almost four decades.

Elder Arreola has been serving the Lord through the Adventist denomination for the past 46 years. He is married to Dr. Imelda Arreola, a preventive health specialist. They have one son, VicLouis Arreola V, who is also a pastor and is entering residency as a physician. The family currently serves as the speakers and producers of Our Great Hope Today evangelistic ministry, conducting public meetings and audiovisual programming across the NAD and reaching 66 nations globally to preach God’s final message of love, hope, and wholeness.

“We have only to live one day at a time, and if we get acquainted with God, He will give us strength for what is coming tomorrow, grace sufficient for each day, and every day will find its own victories.” -My Life Today, 94
